Ticketholders will initially receive their ticket with a locked symbol over the barcode and just the date, venue and seat allocation visible. The barcode will activate at a later date.

“Closer to the event date, the barcode on your ticket will be unlocked and you will be able to securely share tickets with others in your group,” the seller says.

Apparently some fans have already noticed the tickets showing up in their Ticketek app.

“My Taylor Swift ticket is now appearing in the Ticketek app and I have a confirmation email and PDF ticket,” one fan shared to X, formerly known as Twitter.

How to access marketplace tickets

For fans desperate to still secure tickets, Ticketek marketplace has been up and running for months as the only official ticket resale site.

When hopeful fans log on to the marketplace site, they will enter the lounge similar to the general sale process.

Once on the site, it depends on ticket availability and who is looking to sell their seats.

If you manage to nab a ticket on the resell site, Ticketek says that the ticket(s) “will be reissued with a new barcode and your name on them”.

“Print at Home PDF tickets will be uploaded to your Marketplace account or emailed to you. These will generally be sent immediately or within 48 hours of purchase.”

The original ticket bought will then become void to ensure there are no double ups.

How to share tickets

If you were the designated ticket friend, chances are the tickets are in your app and you’re feeling the stress of being responsible for getting your group into the stadium.

For many, to avoid waiting on the ticketholding friend to be able to get into the venue, sharing tickets can ensure you carry responsibility for your own entry.

While tickets are available digitally on the Ticketek app, they can still be shared by email and SMS amongst your group.

According to the Ticketek website, the sharing feature is available directly on the ‘Your Tickets’ tab in the phone app. You then just tap the ‘share’ button and follow the steps.

To accept the ticket, your family or friend will receive a text or email with a specific link. They will then have 48 hours to accept the mobile ticket offer.

The site also confirms that if you change your mind, you can recall or cancel the shared ticket if the other person hasn’t yet accepted – so don’t stress if you accidently clicked that share button.
