Following a season-long sport of emotional Ping-Pong, Candy Magnolias‘ Dana Sue has made a number of troublesome choices about her romantic future — and actress Brooke Elliott couldn’t be extra supportive of her character’s selections.
Her first hurdle in Season 2 was selecting between scorching farmer Jeremy and scorching estranged-husband Ronnie, each of whom offered many pluses and minuses and abs.
“Jeremy is such a present to Dana Sue,” Elliott tells TVLine. “He permits her to really feel lovely once more. She will get to really feel desired and wished — that somebody craves her and is excited by her, and that’s no small factor in life. He provides her so much, and he comes with such innocence. To me, that could be a big reward.”
That stated, Dana Sue finally realized {that a} future with Jeremy wasn’t meant to be. As a substitute, she determined to go all-in with Ronnie, inviting him again into her residence, her mattress and her coronary heart.
“To me, their souls simply align,” Elliott says of the reunited couple. “They’re simply matched, and I don’t understand how you don’t root for 2 souls which might be so meant to be.”
And that appreciation extends off-camera for Elliott, who “can’t say sufficient good issues” about Brandon Quinn as a scene associate.
“After we do these scenes collectively, he’s 100-percent in as a lot as I’m,” she says. “We took nice care with their storyline this season. It’s actually advanced and complicated, and it’s actually relatable. We wished to hit each beat of this relationship — the questions, the battles and all the things that they had to determine about themselves. Companions are such presents in telling us who we’re and what we would like. I might go on and on about Brandon Quinn. I feel he’s simply magnificent, and I like the scenes we get to do collectively.”
However this long-awaited reconciliation doesn’t assure that the couple’s future can be all sunshine and rainbows. Some followers are even speculating that the lady who slashed Dana Sue’s tires within the second season finale might be the one with whom Ronnie was untrue.
All showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson will say in regards to the mysterious new arrival is that she “has a previous in widespread with our women and another of us on the town. She’s been away for some time, however she has come again with an agenda. She has come residence to settle some scores.”
“I used to be alarmed and excited,” Elliott provides of the unnamed lady. “Hopefully we’ll be given a 3rd season and we will work out who she is. I’m simply as curious as everyone else.”
