Suspect on run in Georgia after PIT maneuver stops stolen van

LAURENS COUNTY, Georgia — A suspect has been captured after a chase and in Laurens County, according to a post from the sheriff’s office.

Just before 4:30 a.m. a deputy in Laurens County was chasing a stolen van at Highway 29 and Dewey Warnock Road. The deputy used a PIT maneuver to stop the van. The suspect in the van ran from the crash. 

At 6:42 the sheriff’s office said a helicopter was up in the air, aiding in the search for the suspect. At 8:48 a.m., the suspect was captured and taken into custody, according to a post on the sheriff’s Facebook page. 

The name of the suspect and the charges have not been released.
