James Gunn has shared a new behind-the-scenes (BTS) video that puts the spotlight on Alan Tudyk’s Superman character.
Superman will be released in United States theaters next month from Warner Bros. Pictures. Written and directed by Gunn, the film stars David Corenswet as the titular DC hero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
Tudyk, meanwhile, voices Superman Robot #4 in the film, and Gunn has shared a video on X that showcases how they brought the character to life. Watch the video below:

What happens in the Superman BTS video?
The beginning of the BTS video sees Tudyk’s character explain that the Superman robots “have no consciousness whatsoever” as they are “merely automotons here to serve.” It further offers a look at how they created the character, while Tudyk explains at one point, “His voice is my voice with better annunciation.”
“Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures,” the official synopsis for the DCU film reads. “In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
The cast of Superman also includes Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Terence Rosemarie as Otis, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer.
