A Summit High School graduate who is studying overseas is the creator of the official logo for this year’s SELCO Pole Pedal Paddle.
Caya Christiansen, 22, submitted the winning artwork for the race.
Christiansen graduated from Summit in 2021 and is currently studying architecture in Munich, Germany. Her family still lives in Bend and she’s proud to keep a strong connection to Central Oregon.
“I loved Bend when I lived there. Being able to design something that had a lot of components of the city itself in the logo, it was really fun to make,” Christiansen said.
Christiansen will receive a $500 prize and swag with the logo she designed.
The Pole Pedal Paddle takes place on May 17 with two new categories this year: family pairs for related racers and a military veterans category.Â
