‘Summer House’ Kyle Cooke on Catalyst for Lindsay & Carl’s Split

Kyle Cooke appeared on Thursday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where he answered a series of questions about Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke‘s split.

While also addressing Amanda Batula‘s “trauma” from his past cheating, offering an update on where their marriage stands today, and explaining why he’s not yet ready to move out of New York City and start a family, the Summer House star, 41, shared his thoughts on Lindsay, 37, and Carl’s breakup.

On the April 11 episode of WWHL, Kyle said he believed “multiple late-night conversations” were the catalyst for Carl, 39, calling off the wedding and noted that he didn’t feel “they were speaking the same language or on the same page.”

As for the types of people they should date next, Kyle said Lindsay needs a “deli owner” and Carl needs someone “a little less alpha.”

During last week’s episode of Summer House, Kyle found himself in the midst of controversy as he was made a “flower boy” in what would have been Lindsay and Carl’s wedding. But, looking back, Kyle admitted he didn’t get upset until after the role was set.

“I was thoroughly confused in the moment. I only got a little frustrated when people shed light on the demotion,” he explained.

Although Lindsay and Carl feuded throughout production on season eight, Kyle said it was sad watching Lindsay prepare for the nuptials knowing they never happened. In fact, he actually apologized to Lindsay during a recent run-in.

“My heart still goes out. I know she was this close to marrying someone that she cared for, despite what we’re watching, and starting a family, which she clearly wants. I saw her at a wedding this past weekend, and I said, ‘I’m sorry,’” he revealed.

Regarding Lindsay’s 2.5 rating of her and Carl’s sex life, Kyle said he had the same reaction as Andrea Denver.

“Out of 10? That’s a pretty low number but I think it’s indicative of where they were at,” he reasoned.

Moving on to Amanda, 32, Kyle reacted to her comments about how his past cheating continues to impact her.

“That’s the part that I can’t erase, I can’t fix. I would like to think time heals all wounds. Every single time I find myself getting angry or upset, I have to remind myself that there’s a past I can’t change and I have to own it so it pulls at my heart,” he admitted.

He then suggested that he’s still lonely in their marriage.

“I think that we, amidst filming and working and everything we do together, I think the chemistry and the camaraderie kind of took a back seat and that’s something we’re working on,” he shared.

One particular topic of contention between him and Amanda has been her desire to move out of the city and start a family.

When asked about the matter, Kyle said he’ll “absolutely” move — at some point.

“We just weren’t ready to actually do that full time so we were looking at investment properties. And my whole position on this is if we’re still working things through as a couple, adding a kid into the mix doesn’t solve any problems,” he explained. “So I was focused on us before we focus on family.”

Another fan wanted to know if Kyle really expected to be a groomsman after saying horrible things to Lindsay and Carl last summer.

“Well the summer before, I just called out Lindsay for lying. The irony is she was spinning then and she was spinning now so I just kinda thought that we forgive and we forget and I was clearly in the midst of rebuilding my relationship with Carl and I just kind of thought that she was on board for that,” he noted.

Kyle then reacted to Carl, saying Lindsay didn’t want him to be a groomsman.

“Honestly, not surprised. In that moment, I could read between the lines, even though I was drunk,” he revealed.

As the WWHL episode concluded, host Andy Cohen, 55, asked Kyle if they could cut his mullet at the upcoming reunion taping.

“We’re gonna do it,” Kyle agreed. “Not to get sappy but my grandmother passed away two weeks ago and pretty much the last thing she said to me was she hates my hair.”

Summer House season eight airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
