Steven Spielberg has discovered the following movie challenge that he’ll begin engaged on when he’s completed with The Fableman’s which is impressed by the filmmaker’s time rising up as a child. That subsequent challenge is an authentic movie that can middle on Frank Bullitt!
Frank Bullitt is the San Francisco cop character performed by Steve McQueen within the 1968 thriller Bullitt, which is a favourite film of mine and McQueen’s most iconic function. I feel it’s fairly superior that Spielberg goes to inform a brand new authentic story with this character. It’s going to be fascinating to see what actor Spielberg casts to step into the sneakers of McQueen, although.
Josh Singer (The Publish, Highlight) is about to write down the script, with common Spielberg collaborator Kristie Macosko Krieger on board to provide. Additionally, McQueen’s son Chad McQueen and granddaughter Molly McQueen are govt producing.
The challenge is about up at Warner Bros. and I’m curious to see what the story will inform and if it will likely be set within the current or if it will likely be set within the late 60s early 70s. I hope it’s the latter and that McQueen shall be driving round in his modified Ford Mustang. Rattling, the chase scene in that authentic movie was nice, and in case you didn’t know, McQueen did his personal stunt driving!
The 1968 Bullitt is predicated on the 1963 novel Mute Witness, which follows Bullitt’s investigation into the demise of a mob informant that he was tasked with defending. That movie was directed by Peter Yates (Breaking Away).
