Stern Pinball debuts GODZILLA & JOHN WICK collabs at pop-up arcade

by Gem M

Stern Pinball is back at San Diego Comic-Con this year with two brand new additions in collaboration with two franchises: John Wick and Godzilla.

John Wick fans can head over to Marriott Marquis or booth #3721 on the show floor to play the new pinball game. This collaboration game brings the movie to life, since you play as the famous assassin. The machine has many different kinds of artwork and models inspired by the movie, even like the titular character’s notable car.

What makes the pinball experience from the movie franchise is the use of Stern’s new dynamic AI system. The software is now more responsive and can counter the player’s moves, which makes the gameplay more fun—and it’s different every time.

After playing the game a couple of times and as a beginner of pinball games, it was fun and addictive. It does take a bit to get the hang of it but after understanding the controls and gameplay, it’s great to see your score go up and see your ball dart around everywhere. It’s also quirky to see movie scenes play out on the screen for achievements.

Stern also unveiled a new 70th-anniversary Godzilla Premium Edition pinball machine. The stylish machine is wrapped with iconic black and white artwork and a special greyscale foil to commemorate the occasion.

Just like the John Wick game, this pinball game was also fun to play as a beginner! The playfield was easy to understand and addictive. It also had iconic scenes playing on the screen when either fighting a monster or achieving a goal.

Stern has also introduced a new app called the Stern Pinball Insider Connected. Scanning the unique QR code on any machine allows fans to sync their scores and pick up right where they left off. They can also earn achievements and prizes (physical and digital) for their games or gain quests to incentivize continuous gameplay.16

Old and new players of pinball machines can enjoy these two games while enjoying their favorite franchise at San Diego Comic-Con or at home.
