Stephen Amell Set to Star in NBC’s SUITS Spinoff Series SUITS: LA — GeekTyrant

Stephen Amell is set to lead NBC’s upcoming Suits spinoff series Suits: LA. He will take on the role of Ted Black, “a charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others.”

The synopsis for the series reads: “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

I honestly don’t get the hype of this series. I’ve been watching the series for the first time, and in every episode the dialogue is exactly the same. Every character talks the exact same way, none of them really have any distinct personality. It’s crazy this show lasted nine seasons.

You could have a drinking game based on how many times the characters say the following lines:

“What did you just say to me?”

“Excuse me?”

“Are you shitting me?”

“You son of a bitch”

“You didn’t come all the way down here to say that.”

“Shit the bed.”

“Bullshit!”

“You better win that goddamn case!”

“I wasn’t born yesterday.”

Ok, you get it. Anyway, Stephen Amell is starring in the new show and hopefully they have a better writing team this time around.

The series is being executive produced David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and Victoria Mahoney with Mahoney set to direct the pilot.

It was previously revealed that the show takes place in the same universe as the original, with “the same energy and good looking people that the original did.”
