Stephanie Hollman on What Happens Behind RHOD Cast Dinner

Stephanie Hollman shared what actually happens behind the Real Housewives’ dinner scenes, and how the cast trips are decided. She also claimed producers will “befriend” the stars, and “push” them to reveal info on camera.

Stephanie was an ‘OG’ on the Real Housewives of Dallas before it was cancelled. Stephanie sat through five seasons of ‘restaurant scenes’ – known for their drama. But how does the magic work?

“If it’s just a smaller scene, they give you things that they want you to talk about,” said Stephanie on TikTok. “So they’re like, ‘We want you to talk about this person, this situation.’ So … it’s not like you just talk freely.”

According to Stephanie, the convo is “led to fit the storyline,” and castmates are expected to discuss recent drama.

“If it is a group scene with everybody in the group — and you’re filming in the evening — you will be there until something interesting happens,” she explained.

Stephanie also said castmates are “talking to producers” outside of filming, and producers will “befriend” them.

“And then it’s like when you tell them things, they prompt you, they push you to kind of say something on camera,” she said. “They’ll be like, ‘Oh you should bring that up in the group scene.’ So they go in kind of knowing what to expect before the group scene happens.”

“You know if it’s a big group scene something has to happen, something dramatic, something that’s gonna entertain the audience,” she said. “And after that happens, you can leave.”

Stephanie claimed alcohol is often involved, as it “loosens people up.” Though no one is “forced to drink,” castmates film for a long time, so they “end up drinking a lot.”

A fan then asked how “hosts” are decided for cast trips.

“It happens mid to late in the season,” Stephanie said in a separate TikTok. “You’re throwing ideas at producers. Certain people … want to host a trip. I know D’Andra like always wanted to go to South Africa … [but] our budget did not allow for South Africa.”

Stephanie claimed their season-one budget was virtually nothing, so they vacationed in Austin at Stephanie’s lake house.

“Also the trip has to deal with your storyline, it just can’t be out of nowhere,” she said. “And you don’t know where you’re going until right before.”

According to the star, the late notice is one reason why cast trips are so expensive, because they can’t book things in advance. She said “hosts” don’t actually call around to book where the group stays or eat, but they can share “ideas.”

Stephanie suggested that producers do the heavy lifting in planning the trip, but hosts are “taking credit” for it on camera.
