Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker and Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi have both returned in recent years, much to the delight of viewers, and these two key members of the Star Wars prequel cast reunited at MegaCon 2024.

This attendee is certainly not alone; Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen always receive massive receptions when they appear for Star Wars events, and even more so when they are together. In this case, the hall was full a staggering four hours before the panel was due to begin.

Ewan McGregor & Hayden Christensen Are True Friends

Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have proven themselves to be true friends over the years. Although the actors only filmed Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith together prior to Obi-Wan Kenobi, they clearly bonded. In addition to some of the best Star Wars behind-the-scenes bloopers happening between the two, they always seem genuinely excited to see one another again.

When the two reunited for Obi-Wan Kenobi, McGregor even made sure to make Christensen’s first day on set a memorable one. Although McGregor had already wrapped for the day, he stayed on set to be there for Christensen’s first shot back. Given how close the two became while filming the prequel movies, this isn’t necessarily a surprise, but it’s wonderful for viewers to see that two of Star Wars‘ most beloved actors remain friends.

The only question, of course, is what the future has in store for McGregor and Christensen. There’s as yet no word about Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is a shame given this is the project that could most likely bring them both back. Still, hopefully both will continue appearing in Star Wars for a long time to come.
