Sport power couple Kelsey Plum and husband Darren Walker file for divorce after just one year of marriage

US sporting power couple Kelsey Plum and Darren Waller have reportedly filed for divorce after just one year of marriage. 

According to online records filed in Las Vegas, Plum, the two-time WNBA champion, and Warren, the New York Giants tight end, both submitted a divorce petition. 

Plum took to X (formerly known as Twitter), alluding to the divorce, with fans speculating that it was about Warren.

“I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go,” she wrote. 

“God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends.

“One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and everyday I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP,” the post concluded. 

Waller is yet to comment on the situation, but did share an Instagram story promoting a new vlog and made a post with a cryptic caption. 

“Peace of mind is not a destination to reach; it’s a state of mind to embrace,” he wrote

The pair announced their marriage in March 2023, when they both worked in Las Vegas.

Just weeks before their divorce was filed, Waller told People he considered retiring from the NFL.

“I’m at the point now where I’m like, ‘Is this something that I want to continue to invest my time, invest my body, invest my mind in?’ And I’ve got to come to a decision on that,” he said.

“And it’s to the point where it’s like, man, I don’t feel like I’ve really done a lot. In some ways, my life hasn’t really started.”

Waller continued, “I’m a guy who’s into a lot more than football.”
