SPIDER-MAN 4 Is Rumored to Be the MCU’s Street Level CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR — GeekTyrant

As of right now, one of the most highly anticipated sequels in Marvel’s upcoming slate is Spider-Man 4, a movie with no director, writer, plot, or even star as of yet, seeing as how the MCU’s Spider-Man, Tom Holland, has said he would not commit to the sequel until he has read a script. I’m sure he will eventually sign on, as our Peter Parker left off on quite a sad cliffhanger the last time we saw him, and it would be ridiculous of the studio not to rectify the storyline for the fans. But while we wait for full details, an interesting rumor has surfaced regarding the basis of the upcoming film.

The film will reportedly pick up shortly after the events of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, with a triumphant Mayor Fisk outlawing street-level vigilantes. That will bring Spider-Man and Daredevil together, presumably to take down Wilson Fisk once and for all.

CBM reports that @Cryptic4Qual, one of X’s “scoopers” who has developed a reliable track record this year, claims to have heard some details about Spider-Man 4 and says “it was described to me to be a Street Level Civil War.”

Captain America: Civil War saw Earth’s Mightiest Heroes split straight down the middle over the Sokovia Accords, so this comparison is an interesting one. Could it be that some vigilantes will side with Fisk? Could we see the Mayor assemble his own team of Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers to deal with Spidey and the Man Without Fear?

With Daredevil: Born Again undergoing a creative overhaul, Spider-Man 4 is unlikely to come our way until after that series hits Disney+. We’re also not sure how an adventure like this will set the stage for Peter Parker to be front and center in the Multiversal epic Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

We will just have to wait and see what happens.
