Jarrett “JT” Thomas is shrinking. But, according to the Southern Charm cast member, he is not losing weight with help from Ozempic. Instead, he’s treating his Type-1 diabetes in a healthier way.

In a series of posts shared to his Instagram account, JT confirmed he was diagnosed with the disease at 15 years old and revealed he’d recently embarked on a 100-day program that has seen him “moving glucose” from his upper body to his lower body in an effort to get healthy.

“My face is quite literally so skinny … I can’t really lose much more weight because I’ll start to look — I already look — it’s too much,” he admitted in a recent video on his Instagram Story. “The face is very thin but I promise there’s no Ozempic. There’s no GOP-1s. None of that stuff. It’s truly moving glucose the healthy way.”

As Southern Charm fans may have noticed, JT began sharing his health journey in August of last year, revealing that his role on the show had prompted him to slim down.

“Knowing the camera adds 10lbs, when the show offered me the role I decided to lose 10lbs of bad weight by walking 10 miles a day and eating healthy for as long as it took. It wasn’t an easy journey but I’m so glad I got it done bc I feel 10x happier and healthier and my diabetes is so much easier to manage now without all the excess,” he wrote at the time. “If I can do it, so can you, get those steps in!”

Along with his encouraging message, JT gave fans a look at his thinned-out physique.

More recently, JT’s focus shifted to the management of his diabetes.

“I’ve dedicated my entire year to solving the mysteries of my own personal ‘diabetic situation,’” he declared earlier this week. “Over the course of this year I’ve spent countless hours reading and listening to doctors and scientists while tinkering with my diet and workout regimen. I’ve reflected on the past 24 years of my diabetic experience for countless hours in hopes I might find clues to pair with the new information from my research in hopes I could unlock [the] truth.”

JT announced that over the next 100 days from his post, he would be sharing regular updates with his social media audience about his observations.

“This is a pro bono, non funded, no agenda operation from an American Diabetic who genuinely just wants to live longer and healthier in a very complicated world and wants the best for all Americans and people on Earth,” he explained, adding that he had started at 50 units of insulin per day in July and was down to just one unit three months later.

As he continues to share his journey with fans, JT has started a collection of his updates on his Instagram page under the title “Diabetes Battle” so people can watch a full compilation of anything they may have missed.

Southern Charm season 10 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year.
