Sony Pictures Is Reportedly Developing an AGENT VENOM Movie — GeekTyrant

Venom: The Last Dance has brought the story of Tom Hardy’s version of Eddie Brock to a close, but that doesn’t mean Sony Picture is done with Venom.

According to Hollywood Inside Scooper Daniel Richtman, the studio is moving forward with the franchise and it now developing an Agent Venom movie.

Whether Hardy will return for this project hasn’t been revealed, but with the actor confirming that The Last Dance is his last time playing Venom, I doubt we’ll see him return.

I imagine, if this is true, this will be a whole new take on Venom. After all, Agent Venom is not Eddie Brock, it’s Flash Thompson.

Agent Venom is the story of Thompson, a former high school bully of Peter Parker turned war hero, who bonds with the Venom symbiote under government supervision to become a black-ops agent.

As Agent Venom, Flash gains incredible powers, including superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to generate organic webbing and morph weaponry from the symbiote. This is part of “Project Rebirth.”

However, he faces the constant struggle of keeping the symbiote’s darker impulses in check, as it often tries to assert control and revert to its more violent tendencies.

Throughout his missions, Flash balances his desire to be a hero with the challenges of addiction, disability from his war injuries, and a complex relationship with the Venom symbiote itself.

This partnership with the symbiote allows him to take on dangerous covert missions around the globe, fighting enemies ranging from super-villains to supernatural forces, all while wrestling with the inner demons both his past and the symbiote bring to the surface.

I love the Agent Venom character and this is the Venom film project that I was hoping to see get made one day. So, it would be interesting if this rumor ends up being true. It will also be interesting to see who they cast in the role of Flash.

Flash Thompson is played by Tony Revolori in the Spider-Man film, and I always felt he was completely miscast. I don’t see him stepping into the role of Agent Venom, but who knows what will happen. We’ll just have to wait and see.
