Paramount Pictures screened the first footage from the upcoming sequel of its hit horror movie Smile at CinemaCon recently, and we have our first story details to share for the movie.
Smile 2 will be helmed by returning director Parker Finn, and the story centers on a pop star who finds herself being terrorized by the Smile curse of death.
The pop star character is played by Naomi Scott, and the footage shows us how her glamorous celebrity world turns into a hellish nightmare.
After a few shots of the pop star performing, she is in her dressing room with a man breaks in and flashes her that creepy smile.
There are then a series of shots featuring terrible things, and the at the end she is confronted by a kid with braces who slowly walks up to the Scott and flashes her a smile. Scott thinks she wants her autograph and signs the girls shirt. That’s the end of the trailer.
The announced cast for Smile 2 also includes Kyle Gallner (Smile), Rosemarie DeWitt (The Staircase), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus), and Dylan Gelula (Dream Scenario), alongside Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead) and Miles Gutierrez-Riley (The Wilds).
Smile 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 18, 2024.
