Scheana Shay reacted to Stassi Schroeder’s claim in her new book that Scheana once scraped frosting from cupcakes at a party so her toddler daughter Summer Moon couldn’t eat it – and gave her broccoli.

Scheana suggested that her ex-Vanderpump Rules castmate, whose daughter Hartford is close in age to Summer, was “judging herself as a mom.” The star also revealed if she’d ever let Summer watch past seasons of the show.

“A lot of people thought that Stassi was shading me in her book when she wrote about me scooping the frosting off of the cupcakes and feeding Summer broccoli,” said Scheana in her Scheananigans podcast, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram.

Scheana said this happened “exactly a year ago” at Lala Kent‘s five-year sober birthday party, and “a lot has changed in a year” as Summer now “loves frosting.”

“I think [Stassi] was worried about herself and she was judging herself as a mom,” Scheana added. “She was like, ‘S**t. Am I doing something wrong, like, my kid’s running around with black frosting in her teeth, and Summer Moon is sitting there eating broccoli peacefully’ … So it was like she was questioning herself as a mom.”

The star said Stassi was “not shading me whatsoever.” She also claimed she told Stassi that if the girls got together more, Hartford would “eat more broccoli.”

“Right when I read [the excerpt], I texted her, and she was like, ‘Yes. Hartford still doesn’t eat broccoli,’” Scheana recalled. “But I thought it was a refreshing moment where, you know, we all think things as moms about am I doing this right, am I doing this wrong. And then you can compare to other kids or other moms.”

In another segment of her podcast, Scheana was asked if she re-watches old episodes of Pump Rules – and if she’ll let Summer Moon.

“I don’t actually watch any old episodes unless it’s airing right before a new episode, but I really don’t like watching it,” she admitted. “There’s a lot of cringe moments of me. If there’s a day when Summer wants to watch it, I would try to steer her away from it. But if she watches it, she watches it.”
