Crawl will officially be getting a sequel. The 2019 movie, which was produced by Sam Raimi, is set in Florida and follows a young woman (Kaya Scodelario) who becomes trapped in a flooded basement with a hungry alligator while trying to rescue her father (Barry Pepper) during a hurricane. Talk of a sequel has occured since 2021, when director Alexandre Aja shared that a screenplay for the project was in the works, but no word came on the possible Crawl2 for several more years.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Crawl2 is in development with an eye on shooting in Europe in Fall 2024. Alexandre Aja is set to return as both director and producer, helming a movie that will center on a new storyline set in New York City with new main characters.
