Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered slated for August release

The remaster of Telltale Games’ trilogy will be complete on Switch once Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered closes the case on August 14th. Boasting dynamic lighting, better lip-sync, reworked character models, and numerous other improvements, It’ll mark the first time that The Devil’s Playhouse has been on a Nintendo console.

Following Sam & Max: Save the World and Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space, this third point-and-click adventure promises more hysterical hijinks from the detective duo, as well as an end to an era. Brought back from the brink by former Telltale staff and Skunkape Games, The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered will be a farewell to the trilogy and the company that created it.

Telltale went bankrupt in 2018, leaving many of their properties and games to exchange hands thereafter. Luckily, much like another notable studio that went bankrupt that year, AlphaDream, their games have found homes and even hope.

If you’re in pursuit of justice for the first time, demos for the first and second game in the trilogy are available to download from the Switch eshop. And if you’re looking to retrace your steps before the grand finale, now might be a good time to hop back into those earlier seasons for a ride down memory lane.
