Inneresting move, Sacha Baron Cohen.
As we’ve been following, the Borat star and his longtime wife Isla Fisher announced their split last year after 14 years of marriage. If you don’t recall, Sacha was embroiled in controversy at the time as Rebel Wilson made some pretty gross sexual harassment allegations against the 53-year-old stemming from their 2016 film The Brothers Grimsby. At the time, sources claimed the couple’s divorce filings had nothing to do with the allegations — though the timing was undeniably suspect.
Isla recently opened up about how difficult their separation has been… but assured fans they’re committed to co-parenting. Sacha’s latest comments seem to point to a harmonious relationship post-split… don’t they?
Over the weekend, Isla posted a series of sultry photos on Instagram, including one in a pink mini dress. In the pic, she’s laying on a bed made with black satin sheets as she gazes into the camera. See (below):

And Sacha didn’t let their divorce get in the way of recognizing that!

In the comments, the Brüno star left a surprising message of support. He wrote:
“Stunning photoshoot.”
Wow! It’s rare you see exes interacting like this! Especially in Hollywood! And Isla didn’t turn up her nose… She actually responded to the filmmaker, writing alongside a smiling emoji:
“@sachabaroncohen thank you”

Hey, we mean, good for them, right? That is… assuming the intent was all complimentary like it seems.
See, this all comes amid several conflicting reports about their divorce… some of which are pretty disturbing.
Last week, an insider told DailyMail.com that after Isla’s recent interview, Sacha was left “furious” because of an agreement they allegedly had to not discuss their split publicly — and because it made him feel “that she was on side with Rebel” as she gushed about her female friendships in the piece. The insider added that despite previous reports, the Rebel situation “very much” was at the center of their split:
“They have always been very private people so Isla speaking out was a massive shock to him, and a clear sign she isn’t going to be the doting wife anymore.”
Publicly, Sacha “liked” a post of the interview on Instagram, but privately, they claim, he felt Isla started a “war” and that “any remaining veneer of civility has gone.”
Yeesh…
However on the flip side of the coin, a separate insider told Page Six on Sunday that the pair’s $75 million divorce has “gone pretty smoothly” thus far despite common “challenges.”
So was his latest comment a tactful move to paint a pristine public picture, or did he genuinely mean what he said? It’s hard to know what to believe! Especially because you can’t really convey tone in an IG comment…
