Rumored Story Details Surface for X-MEN ’97 and Things Might Get Wild — GeekTyrant

Some new rumored story details have surfaced for the highly-anticipated X-Men ’97 animated series. If these actually end up being true, fans are in for a wild ride with a video game-inspired episode and what we will see in the finale. Possible spoilers ahead.

The official synopsis for the series reads: “Storm and Wolverine try to continue the X-Men. Magneto comes in and wants to step up for Charles Xavier. Sinister comes in to try to end the X-Men once and for all.”

The series starts with Magneto and the X-Men after Professor X left for Shi’ar space in the original show’s series finale. The series brings back the original voice cast including Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Lenore Zann (Rogue), George Buza (Beast), Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm), Chris Potter (Gambit), Catherine Disher (Jean Grey), Adrian Hough (Nightcrawler), and Christopher Britton (Minister Sinister).

The new information comes to us from scooper @CanWeGetToast, who shares that the series may end up delivering a three-part finale, which will play out across episodes 8, 9, and 10. It’s explained that Nathan Summers aka Cable will to return, and the X-Men will square off with Mister Sinister, Bastion, and a deadly new horde of Sentinels.

It was also reported that there is a video game-inspired episode that will reportedly see Jubilee and her boyfriend, Sunspot, trapped in a 16-bit video game by Mojo on her birthday. It’s said that some of this episode will be animated in the style of a 16-bit video game, which should be fun!

We’ll know soon enough if these rumored details end up being true or not. All I know, is that I’m excited about this series and I hope that it ends up being a great animated show! Some footage was screened at Comic-Con earlier this year, and you can read up on that here.
