Rumored MCU Star Responds To Fantastic Four Casting Theories

One rumored cast member of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four project for Phase 6 of the MCU has now delivered a response to weeks of fan theories and speculation. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige first teased a Fantastic Four reboot for the MCU in 2019, shortly after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox was finalized, with the deal reverting the Fantastic Four’s film rights to Marvel Studios. Since then, there has been overwhelming speculation regarding who will be cast as the highly-anticipated reboot’s four leads: Reed Richards’ Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm’s Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm’s Human Torch and Ben Grimm’s Thing.

Best known for playing David “Micro” Lieberman in The Punisher and Desi Harperin in Girls, Ebon Moss-Bachrach has been a popular fan-cast for the role of Ben Grimm, a.k.a. the Thing. Moss-Bachrach has been more recently acclaimed for his role of Richard “Richie” Jerimovich in FX’s The Bear, but has now commented on his potential future in the MCU. Speaking to The Wrap, Moss-Bachrach noted that he could neither confirm nor deny rumors that he’d be appearing in Fantastic Four, though some have taken this as confirmation, as there has been speculation that Fantastic Four’s cast will be announced soon.

When Will Fantastic Four’s Cast Be Announced?

Ebon Moss-Bachrach is one of many stars who have been rumored to be appearing in the MCU’s Fantastic Four as Marvel’s First Family. The most recent rumored members of Fantastic Four’s cast include The Last of Us and The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Pieces of a Woman and Napoleon’s Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Stranger Things and Catherine the Great’s Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Moss-Bachrach completing the team as Ben Grimm. However, there is yet to be an official announcement from Marvel Studios, though it may not be too long until this cast is finally confirmed.

Recent rumors have suggested that Fantastic Four’s cast is now locked and “deals are closed,” meaning there will possibly be an official announcement on who has been cast in the coming days or weeks (via comicbookmovie.com). Marvel Studios and Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman have remained very quiet on the matter, and the rumored cast have neglected to comment on their potential involvement, too. However, with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach perhaps becoming Marvel’s First Family in Fantastic Four, there is a lot to be excited for in the coming years.
