Rihanna Catches A$AP Rocky Off Guard By Rapping Along To GloRilla
Rihanna paved the way for countless artists, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be a fan of their material as well.
In an Instagram post shared on Friday (June 28), she could be seen fully in her zone while dancing to GloRilla‘s latest single “TGIF.”
As she lip-synced and got down to the hook “It’s 7 p.m. Friday/ It’s ninety-five degrees/ I ain’t got no n-gga and no n-gga ain’t got me,” the camera panned to A$AP Rocky.
Confused and amused by his partner’s energy, he hilariously responded by saying: “Where my drink at, man? I’m too old for this shit.”
While the couple has largely won over the R&B and Hip Hop communities, not everyone is impressed by their collective star power.
Earlier this month, Azealia Banks took to her Instagram Stories and shared her thoughts on the pair while praising Riri’s former boyfriend Chris Brown as the “best artist of this generation.” Furthermore, she called the backlash stemming from his 2009 assault on the singer “self-righteous bullshit.”
The Harlem native also claimed that Rocky is gay, adding: “Look at who she’s with now. A n-gga that wears back-out shirts. He’s on camera shooting one of his best friends … on camera kicking a female fan in the face. Really?
“Rocky’s definitely a butch queen. I don’t know how nobody told Rihanna that. Maybe she likes it, maybe she’s into that stuff. But Rocky’s definitely not a straight man.”
The 33-year-old rapper concluded her tirade by saying: “Are we really responsible for trying to make Chris Brown’s life a living hell if sis is not responsible enough to make good choices of partner? It’s kinda weird.
“Rihanna’s done a lot of menacing and a lot of fucking with bitches just to end up with a gay boy — a broke untalented gay boy at that.”
Banks’ diatribe notwithstanding, Rihanna has previously talked about about mending her relationship with Breezy.
Back in 2020, Oprah Winfrey re-released a 2012 interview with the singer for an episode of her Supersoul Coversations podcast in which RiRi opened up about their special bond.
“We’ve been working on our friendship again,” she told Oprah Winfrey in a 2012 interview. “Now we’re very very close friends. We’ve built up a trust again. We love each other and we probably always will. And that’s not something we’re ever going to change. That’s not something you can shut off, if you’ve ever been in love.
“I think he was the love of my life. He was the first love. And I see that he loved me the same way… it’s not even about us being together. I truly love him. So the main thing for me is that he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s a little unhappy, or he’s still lonely.”
