RHOSLC’s Meredith Marks Dishes on Call With Jen, Slams Mary

There has been quite a bit going on with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. This is so much the case that it’s easy to forget that Jen Shah was ever even a cast member. Of course, this is with the exception of the talk of Heather Gay‘s black eye last season. Now, Meredith Marks is discussing a recent phone call she had with Jen and the idea she could return to the series. Plus, she’s firing back at Mary Cosby over her recent comments.
As fans of the RHOSLC know, Jen was one of the show’s OGs. Of course, they also recall that she was arrested in 2021 while filming the series. Since her arrest, she has remained somewhat of a topic in popular culture.
Recently, Meredith spoke to PEOPLE about a phone call she had with her former co-star. According to the RHOSLC star, “First of all, it was a 10-minute call — that’s all you’re allowed — and it’s on a recorded line by the government, so I was very careful because I didn’t know what I’m supposed to say or not say.”
She continued, “It was pretty surface. ‘How are you? How are the kids? How’s Sharrieff?’ stuff like that. I was just happy to hear her voice again. She sounds like she’s doing well. She sounds like she’s really working on herself. And I was glad to hear that.”
Meredith also shared that Jen gave her permission to discuss the call. She said, “That’s Jen’s story, not mine. So if she didn’t allow me to talk about it, I would not.”
Of course, several current RHOSLC stars have said they are more open to Jen returning to the show than Monica Garcia. Regarding why that is, Meredith said, “Accountability goes a long way in our circle. If you say, ‘Look, I screwed up, and I made a mistake, and I’m sorry,’ — that matters. If she’s taking accountability and doing what she needs to do to make it better, that’s the best she can do right now. There’s nothing else she can do beyond that.”
She continued, “We’re human. We all do things that we’re not proud of that are wrong at times. This is a big one, obviously; it’s a bad one. But she’s in prison. She’s serving her time. She’s paying restitution. I mean, she’s not earning a ton of money, but she’s doing what she can. And that’s all a big price to pay. I don’t know what more you can ask from her.”
Of course, Meredith also spoke to Page Six about Mary’s recent comments regarding her sitting at home alone and drinking wine while crying. She said, “Her reaction was pretty funny about, like, drinking wine and crying [alone] because I’m by far the most social person on our cast.”
She went on, “I have friends all over the world. I’m out 90 percent of the time. I’m not sitting home and drinking wine and crying. That’s not my MO. In fact, Mary’s the one who sits at home very often — not me.”
This rebuttal comes after Mary responded to Meredith saying that someone from the cast may have been recording her. In her response, Mary basically said there was no reason to record Meredith and that people would only hear “probably sipping wine. And some tears. Wine and tears and wine and tears and wine and … just being a victim.”
RHOSLC airs Tuesday nights on Bravo at 9/8c.
