RHOSLC’s Bronwyn Newport on Gwen’s Status With Grandparents

Bronwyn Newport is quickly becoming a fan favorite on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Not only can she hold her own against OGs like Heather Gay, but she has also opened up about her life in ways that some newbies don’t.
Now, she’s giving an update about her daughter, Gwen, and where she stands with her estranged grandparents. Plus, she’s discussing what has mortified her the most about being on the show.
Of course, as fans of RHOSLC will know, Bronwyn opened up about how she was pretty much shunned for getting pregnant at an early age. It also came to light that her daughter has never met her grandparents and that Lisa Barlow actually knows them and thinks they are great people.
Recently, the RHOSLC newbie sat down for an interview with E! News and discussed her daughter and whether her relationship with her grandparents has changed since the revelation on the show.
According to Bronwyn, “I have not heard from them directly, but they definitely want to have contact with Gwen. As she’s just kind of turning 18 and becoming an adult, I still want to be involved in managing that communication, but it’s also definitely for her to do for herself.”
However, she also discussed her relationship with her ex’s parents and said she doesn’t believe they have a reason to talk. Bronwyn says, “I don’t think they and I really have anything else to say to each other. But I really hope that they have a lot to say to Gwen: ‘I’m sorry, and we’d love to know you.’”
Of course, discussing such a personal story on RHOSLC was difficult for both Gwen and Bronwyn. Later in the interview, she went into detail about how proud she is of her daughter having the courage to open up.
She explains, “My daughter was just so mature and so vulnerable and so willing to kind of explain and kind of show people what that looks like, to hold hard things. She wants so badly, to have this relationship with them. And maybe it’ll work, and maybe it won’t, and it’s been really positive, the response.”
Regarding the people who have reached out and could relate to the sorry, Bronwyn had this to say, “Everybody has reached out and said, ‘I didn’t know my parent growing up, or I had a nontraditional family of whatever kind,’ and it resonated with them in some way.”
She continues, “And it’s just been so, so important and wonderful. I was very nervous once that became something we were discussing on-camera, but it’s actually been really beautiful.”
In other RHOSLC news, Bronwyn recently revealed to US Weekly that she was embarrassed that the cameras caught the state of her home. Of course, she and her husband have a beautiful home, but they also have lots of dogs, which can get messy at times. Specifically, there was dog poop all over the house.
According to Bronwyn, “I did not know until I saw the episode. My daughter is kind of the dog whisperer in our house, and she came to me when she saw the episode. She said, ‘I am so embarrassed. Our house is so clean. How could this be what it looks like?;”
She goes on, “And I was like, ‘Well, I guess that’s what it was that day.’”
She also said that she was “mortified” after watching that episode.
Additionally, she responded to Heather taking digs at her home.
“I’ve never been in Heather’s house, so I cannot return the compliment or lack of.”
However, Bronwyn also admits that Heather’s harsh comments were fair. She continues, “I was out of control, busy that day. I had a new puppy. It was snowing, and it [was] totally on me. If the camera crews caught the poop in my house, I would’ve showed [it] if I was production too.”
In the end, the newbie says she hopes to return to the series for another season. According to her, “I am dying for Bravo to have me back for another season because I feel like people need to see I do not live in this mausoleum of emptiness. My house is finally almost all the way done.”
She adds, “It’s not like, ‘Hello, hello, hello’ in this empty house anymore.”
Fans can watch Bronwyn on RHOSLC on Wednesday nights.
