Karen Huger is showing off the results of her facelift.
Following last week’s episode of part one of the three-part Real Housewives of Potomac season 8 reunion, during which Karen admitted that she’d “absolutely” had work done, revealing she underwent “a deep plane [facelift]” in an effort to give herself a more “refreshed” look, her before and after photos have been shared.
“I had the great – or should I say Grande – pleasure of helping [Karen Huger] look better than ever at triple twenty,” Dr. Carl Truesdale, of Truesdale Facial Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, California, wrote in the caption of an April 1 Instagram clip of before and after images of Karen.
“I performed my signature deep plane facelift, brow lift, lip lift, upper blepharoplasty, and fat transfer to deliver a snatched face and a jawline for the gods,” he continued. “What a gorgeous canvas – she’s an icon. Thanks Karen for trusting me and coming to Beverly Hills to see me.”
Dr. Trusdale also included hashtags for “deep plane facelift,” “neck left,” “fat transfer,” “lip lift,” “brow lift,” and “upper blepharoplasty.”
According to the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, a deep plane facelift is “a variation that repositions tissues on a level below the [superficial musculoaponeurotic system], releasing certain ligaments and remodeling deeper attachments.”
This type of facelift allows surgeons to “achieve more thorough lifting without tightly pulling tissues, thereby creating maximal results while retaining a natural-looking appearance,” the board explains.
Karen’s before and after photos were shared just days after the RHOP cast member was charged with DUI following what she claimed was an emotion-fueled car accident.
“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes during this very frightening experience. I am still in shock from last nights incident, but grateful to be alive today,” Karen said in a statement to TMZ after the incident. “With the passing of my Beloved Mother, grief comes and goes in waves, and with [Mother’s] Day approaching it has felt more like a tsunami.”
“I would like to stress, it’s important to understand your emotional state when driving and may this be a reminder to all to use their seatbelts, my Mother may be my Guardian Angel but the seatbelt saved my life,” she added.
