Sonja Morgan‘s ex-husband, banker John Adams Morgan, has died.

In a series of posts shared to her Instagram Story on Friday, the 61-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum’s daughter, Quincy Morgan, 24, confirmed the news, sharing that her father, who was married to Sonja from 1998 to 2006, passed away earlier this month.

“Hi everyone, as an obituary was published yesterday, I want to take the opportunity to tell you all myself that my father passed away this month … My family is navigating this together … I very much loved and admired my dad … I am so grateful for the love and care I have been shown in these past weeks,” Quincy wrote in her first post on February 7.

Then, in a second, she added, “I took a break from work to navigate this loss … As I start to phase back into work and my community in the following weeks, the best contact for questions and communication from my brand partners is: [email protected] … My amazing manager has done her best to move campaigns and best manage everything so that I could be present with my family.”

While Quincy has lived an extremely private life in recent years, refusing to appear alongside her mother on episodes of RHONY, she did speak out about her life with mom Sonja and dad John during an August 2022 interview with S’More Date.

“I pretty much just went to boarding school, did my thing, massive nerd, super proud of my mom, she did her thing, proud of my dad. He had this incredible life and I just kind of had incredible influences from both of them,” Quincy revealed. “My mom was incredibly strict with me until I was 10. She read all the parenting books. This woman studied. She was not going to do this wrong. She was doing this once, and she was doing it right. So she was very strict on me until I was 10, and then the rules completely relaxed, and she let me have natural consequences.”

She also spoke of her career after attending college in Pennsylvania, hinting that she could follow in the footsteps of her father, who was the founder and chairman of Morgan Joseph, and the great-grandson of J. P. Morgan.

“I’m recruiting for banking, but I’m also… I have some background in tech,” she explained.

Sonja Morgan starred on The Real Housewives of New York City in a full-time role from season three through season 13.
