Kyle Richards reacted to fan backlash after gifting her 16-year-old daughter Portia a Porsche, revealed her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky purchased it, and said Portia deserves it.

In the recent TikTok video, Kyle and Mauricio filmed their daughter’s reaction to the new Porsche Cayenne, valued around $90,000. Many fans expressed that a teenager shouldn’t have a luxury vehicle at that age, and they questioned the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s choice.

Speaking to TMZ, Kyle addressed the criticism that Portia is too young to be driving such a pricey car.

“Well it wasn’t as expensive as they reported,” said Kyle. “But I understand that. I get that.”

“She’s a very good driver,” Kyle went on. “She’s a straight A student. She’s a good kid … I think [she deserves it].”

She said the car was purchased by her husband Mauricio, who “works very hard.”

When asked if a Porsche was chosen because her name is Portia, Kyle answered, “That may have had something to do with it.”

In a past interview with E! News – before season 14 started filming – Kyle addressed the upcoming season: “I, personally, am just trying not to think about it … Because I need a break from all of that. As soon as the reunion finished and wrapped … I just kept having [it] in my face over and over again. I’m like, ‘I just need a break.’ Whenever they talk about it, I’m like, ‘Too soon, guys!’”

She then addressed season 13, which revealed her separation from Mauricio. In the finale, Kyle and Mauricio told the kids, who were understandably upset.

“It was really difficult because when we first started the season, Mauricio and I really didn’t know what was going on, where we were going to end up,” said the star, who gave an update on how her daughters are now handling it.

“They’re doing really well,” she said. “They’re all really strong girls. They’re strong, they’re confident, they’re smart. They’ve been a really strong pillar of support for me to lean on during these times. They were really looking out for me. That was really nice.”
