Marlo Hampton opened up about her use of Ozempic to lose weight, admitting that she became addicted to the medication during a recent appearance on Carlos King‘s podcast.

After debuting her weight loss last November to criticism of being “too thin,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 48, who confirmed her departure from the Bravo reality series last month, said that after taking the diabetes medication for six months, during which she experienced uncomfortable side effects, she’s quit taking the drug.

“I’m missing it right now, but I’m done with it,” Marlo revealed on the March 15 episode of Reality With the King. “I was probably the only person that admitted to it, right?”

According to Marlo, she became addicted to Ozempic after seeing the pounds falling off.

“I had gotten addicted to it. I lost 30 pounds. Sample sizes. Everybody was sending me clothes. I’m like, ‘Yes, yes,’” she recalled. “And then I’m like, ‘Alright b*tch, you’re [menstral] are acting funny. You’re getting a little breakout.’ I’m like, ‘This sh*t is messing with my body.’ I couldn’t go to the bathroom. I was backed up. I’m like, ‘I gotta let this sh*t go.’ I ain’t went in three weeks! What’s going on? I’m literally full of sh*t!”

Although Marlo stayed on the drug for some time, she ultimately decided to listen to what her body was telling her.

“I barely even to go the restroom, but I really wasn’t going number two. Then, my face started breaking out, my menstral started acting funny so I gotta start working out. I gained 10 pounds being off of it now,” she complained.

After Carlos assured her she was still looking amazing, Marlo noted that many people, especially her family members, felt she’d gotten “too skinny.”

“They’re like, ‘You got too skinny. You needed those 10 pounds back on.’ But I loved being that skinny,” she confessed. “I want to lose like, five of it though.”

As RHOA fans may have seen, Marlo confirmed her exit from the series in February with a statement to PEOPLE.

“My contract with Real Housewives of Atlanta ended when season 15 wrapped. This break from RHOA is a fresh start, allowing me the space to participate in new creative entertainment projects focused on my future and not reliving my past,” she shared. “My nephews are transitioning into pivotal stages of their academic adolescence, and I am focused on my representation in their eyes and getting back to showing my multifaceted lifestyle of philanthropy, fashion, and fabulosity!”

“I am thankful for this amazing platform of Housewives, which has allowed me to bring awareness to foster care, my non-profit Glam It Up, Inc., and showcase my fashion showroom, Le’Archive. I look forward to my continued relationship with Bravo and NBC Universal,” she added.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 is expected to begin filming sometime this spring.
