‘Percy Jackson & The Olympians’ Casts Daniel Diemer As Tyson

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has found its Tyson.

Daniel Diemer has been cast in Season 2 of the Disney+ series as the lovable Cyclops, who is also Percy’s paternal half brother, the son of Poseidon and a nymph.

Author and series co-creator Rick Riordan announced the news via a video message at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Thursday.

“Daniel Diemer’s enthusiasm and talent brings a whole new dimension to Tyson, and it’s going to be incredible to see him in the second season,” Riordan said. “I can’t wait for you guys to meet him and welcome him to the Percy Jackson universe.”

In a video message of his own, Diemer told the crowd: “I’m thrilled and honored to step into the extraordinary universe of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Now, I’ve been a fan of the books since I was 10 years old, and it’s a dream come true to be a part of this and embark on such an exciting adventure with such talented cast and crew and, of course, passionate fans. I can’t wait to bring Tyson to life and to share his journey with you all.”

The second installment will follow Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) as they embark on a new adventure based on The Sea of Monsters, the second book of Rick Riordan’s best-selling “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series, published by Disney Hyperion.

Diemer is best known for his role in the 2020 Netflix movie, The Half of It. He also appeared in the recent Hulu series Under the Bride. His other credits include Little Brother, Supercell, The Midnight Club, and The Man in the High Castle.
