JACKSON, Ga. — After five straight days of heat advisories, people are looking to stay cool.
High Falls State Park has provided just that for those from all over.
Michael and Lynn Davenport traveled all the way from Tennessee this holiday weekend and have enjoyed relaxing by the water all to stay cool.
“It ain’t easy,” Micahel Davenport said. “Just been drinking a lot of fluids, staying in the shade. Fans and air conditioner.”
Several other families came out to the park to find their own ways to beat the heat.
From going out on kayaks to simply listening to the waterfall, everyone had their own ways to overcome the scorching heat.
“Shady spots, stay with the shady spots,” said Braden May, who came from Pike County to relax. “I go fishing. Chill, drink some water, staying cool.”
Guests can boat, fish, camp, hike and picnic at the park anytime on the weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
