Paul Ryan Named Executive Producer Of ‘Dateline’ – Deadline

Paul Ryan has been named the executive producer of NBC’s Dateline.

His promotion follows that of Liz Cole, who became senior executive producer of the show after the departure of longtime senior exec VP David Corvo.

Ryan was most recently senior producer and creative director for Dateline, and he managed all aspects of the editorial and production process.

The show, now in its 32nd season, it the longest running primetime series in NBC’s history.

Ryan joined NBC News in 2011, and also served as the senior producer for news divisions specials, including those on criminal justice reform, immigration and homelessness. He also is the EP of the NBCUniversal News Group Inspiring America special. He’s also been co-executive producer for the NBC series The Widower and Escape, and the senior producer for Dateline’s first original show for Peacock, The Last Day. 

He started his career in 1994 at Sports Illustrated Television and later joined CBS News, where he worked as senior broadcast producer on 48 Hours, among other assignments. He has won multiple News & Documentary Emmy Awards, a DuPont Award, a Sigma Delta Chi Award, and two Edward R. Murrow Awards.
