Paul Feig Inks First-Look Deal With Warner Bros. Television Group

Warner Bros. Television Group has signed a first-look deal with writer, director and producer Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Freaks and Geeks) and his producing partner Laura Fischer.

Under the multi-year agreement, Feig’s first at the Warner Bros. Discovery studio, he will develop and create original programming in all genres — live-action scripted, unscripted, animation — to be produced through his Feigco Entertainment production company for all platforms, including WBD’s HBO and Max as well as external streaming services and the broadcast networks.

While he has branched into features, most recently directing and producing Another Simple Favor, starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, for Amazon, Feig’s roots are in television where his career was launched by the 1999 cult favorite Freaks & Geaks, which he created.

More recently, he collaborated with Lionsgate Television on several series, including Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Minx, Love Life and Welcome To Flatch as an extension to his film deal at the indie studio.

“I’ve long been a fan of Warner Bros. Television Group because of their very diverse and far-reaching slate of quality TV programming,” Feig said. “So, it’s an absolute honor for Laura Fischer and me to be joining forces with [Creative Affairs President] Clancy [Collins White], [Head of Drama] Parul [Agrawal] and [Head of Comedy] Adrienne [Turner] to create new and innovative shows to entertain viewers in a time when we all desperately need some great escapist fare. Long live WBTVG!”

For his work on Freaks & Geeks, Feig was nominated for two Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series category. He also was a co-executive producer and directed more than a dozen episodes of the Emmy-winning The Office, winning a DGA Award, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and sharing in an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. His additional television credits include directing multiple episodes of Arrested Development, Nurse Jackie and Weeds.

In features, Feig also recently directed and produced The Housemaid, starring Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, which will be released by Lionsgate in theaters on Christmas Day 2025.

Feig is repped by CAA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
