Pascal Self-Eliminated From The Golden Bachelorette
& Broke Joan’s Heart
Pascal was chosen to be in Joan’s final three, with whom she was going to take on fantasy suite dates to Morrea, Tahiti. Joan and Pascal did a traditional Tahitian bonding ceremony, but it brought up concerns for Pascal. Pascal had previously let Joan know that he still had walls up because he didn’t want to get hurt. Joan was hesitant to pick Pascal as one of her final three because of it, but she decided to take a leap of faith.
However, during their evening date over dinner, after Pascal had done some thinking, he broke the news to Joan that he would be self-eliminating (via Bachelor Nation.)
“I’m having a very difficult time, you know, to let go. I just care very much about you, and the last thing I want to do is to hurt you, and I just don’t think I could get to the place where you want me to be.”
Joan’s heart was broken by Pascal’s revelation, but she understood where he was coming from. Come the Men Tell All, Pascal was very appreciative of his time with Joan, and she returned the sentiment.
The Golden Bachelorette‘s Pascal did land himself in hot water when he gave an interview during the end of the season where he called Chock a “stalker,” based on Chock’s overbearing behavior during the group bowling date. But Pascal has since apologized to Chock and Joan. However, the comments did hurt Pascal’s reputation, and he likely won’t be chosen as the next Golden Bachelor because of it.
