Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony: Tom Cruise spotted drenched by rain

It’s the only event that can get the world’s biggest and brightest to face the elements.

The Olympic Games opening ceremony may have had some dreary weather, but that didn’t stop A-listers from showing up to cheer on the world’s best athletes.

But the sight of one particular actor had some fans doing a double take.

Host of the US version of Today, Hoda Kotb, uploaded a casual selfie from the stands of the ceremony on the banks of the river Seine, featuring herself in a poncho to protect from the elements.

But it was her rain-soaked companion that had fans looking twice.

“Do you know when you dream of meeting Tom Cruise… And then it finally happens,” she shared.

In the photo, Kotb looks ecstatic to meet the superstar, who opted to go sans poncho like everyone else and brave the elements, resulting in his normally perfectly coiffed hair looking stringy and wet, sticking across his forehead.

Nonetheless he still looked stylish in a black shirt and blazer as he beamed reciprocally while meeting the morning show host.

“I had to do a double take- am I really seeing who I think I’m seeing?!?! Love the pure excitement on your face!! Even with dripping hair he looks good!” said one fan.

“She’s smiling like a teenage girl who met her star crush for the first time,” another fan noted.

Kotb’s co-host Jenna Bush Hager teased her by leaving a comment, “In your dream were you wearing a poncho?”

They are not the only stars in Paris to mark the momentous occasion. Also at the opening ceremony were Arian Granda and Cynthia Erivo from Wicked, Serena Williams, Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr, Anna Wintour and Baz Luhrmann, and many more.
