One person dead after Monday afternoon shooting in Fort Valley, coroner says
FORT VALLEY, Ga. — One person is dead after a shooting in Fort Valley on Monday, according to Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores.
Flores says a 24-year-old man was shot and killed in the 600 block of Miller Street on Monday. He says the shooting happened around 4:00 p.m.
Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks says they are currently working to identify the victim, and their next of kin has not been contacted yet. Rooks says the Fort Valley Police Department has requested help from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in the shooting.
