Nintendo donating 50 million yen for Noto Peninsula earthquake relief

Unfortunately, Japan did not start off the new year on a good note. On New Year’s Day, disaster struck when the Noto Peninsula was struck with a major earthquake. Ever since then, relief efforts have been ongoing. Sadly, many lives have been lost and there has been a lot of damage to buildings and roads in the area.

Japan also happens to be the home of Nintendo’s main headquarters. So, it isn’t surprising at all that Nintendo is wanting to help people out. The company has announced that they are donating 50,000,000 yen, which is the equivalent of around $340,000, to the Japanese Red Cross to help with relief efforts. Nintendo has also confirmed that they will be providing free repairs to anyone that is living in the area for up to 6 months. You can see a tweet relaying the news down below.
