New Trailer Unleashed For The Fantasy Adventure Series PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS — GeekTyrant


Disney+ has released a full trailer for its adaptation of author Rick Riordan’s fantasy epic series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The footage in this trailer gives us our best look yet at the series and what we can expect from the story, which follows a 12-year-old boy named Percy (Walker Scobell) who is enjoying a seemingly normal life until he learns he’s a half-blood: half human, half Greek god.

Upon learning this shocking news, Percy ends up having to attend Camp Half-Blood, which is where demigod kids train to hone their unique and powerful skills. Percy then finds himself on a quest to find Zeus’s stolen lightning bolt with the help of his friends, a satyr named Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and fellow half-blood Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), daughter of Athena.

The series tells the fantastical tale of the modern demigod, played by, “who’s just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.”

The series also stars Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Megan Mullally as Alecto aka Mrs. Dodds, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus aka Mr. D, Jay Duplass as Hades, Glynn Turman as Chiron aka Mr. Brunner, the late Lance Reddick as Zeus, Adam Copeland as Ares, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Medusa, Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, Suzanne Cryer as Echidna, Timm Sharp as Gabe Ugliano, and Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus.

Author Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg wrote the pilot, and James Bobin directs. Steinberg will oversee the series with his producing partner Dan Shotz. The series is said to stay true to Riordan’s vision of the story.

Percy Jackson and The Olympian will premiere with two episodes on December 20th, 2023.
