The Tennessee Department of Commerce announced their new Heroes program which promotes fire safety.
The goal is to connect home inspectors and real estate agents with local fire departments that can help install new smoke detectors.
The program connects dozens of different professions and costs residents nothing.
“So we started the heroes program which allows them to tell their clients if a smoke alarm is out of date, then they can go to the local fire department. the fire department can then provide and install the smoke alarm.,” said Jennifer Peck, TN Department of Commerce and Insurance
