    season 2.
  • Season 1’s conclusion set up future arcs, suggesting that season 2 may begin with the Loguetown arc, where Luffy faces old enemies and a new marine foe.
  • The Arabasta Saga, with its epic story and challenging battles, could provide the material for a majority of season 2, expanding the crew and world of the show.

One Piece star Iñaki Godoy has left viewers speculating what season 2 has in store for the Straw Hat pirates. The beloved manga by Eiichiro Oda leaped into live-action in 2023, where Godoy portrayed the lively and ambitious Pirate King wannabe Monkey D Luffy. Season 1 concluded with the Arlong Park arc from the manga, as Luffy, Nami (Emily Rudd), Roronoa Zoro, (Mackenyu), Usopp (Jacob Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skyler) set sail for the Grand Line after making their mark as wanted pirates.

While One Piece season 2 is still in early development, a recent post from the One Piece Netflix Fan Twitter account has left people guessing where Luffy will travel to next.

While Godoy is set to attend Middle East Film & Comic Con in Abu Dhabi, the actor recorded a quick video alongside a camel in the post above, with the caption simply featuring two camel emojis. While simply a fun photo for newcomers, others have speculated it may be a nod to Eyelash, the Straw Hat crew’s animal companion during the Arabasta Arc, hinting at an upcoming adaptation.

Where Will One Piece Season 2 Take The Straw Hat Crew?

Following One Piece season 1’s conclusion, several future arcs were already set up for adaptation within the series itself. While Luffy, the Straw Hats, Koby (Morgan Davies) and Helmeppo (Aidan Scott) prepared for the next chapters in their journeys, a vengeful alliance between Buggy (Jeff Ward) and Alvida (Ilia Isorelys Oaulino) was formed, and an ominous Marine Captain chain-smoking two cigars sets his sights on Luffy. With these two hints, it’s been speculated that season 1 will begin with the Loguetown arc, as Luffy is caught between old enemies and this new foe.

Within the original One Piece manga run, the Arabasta Saga was a thirteen-volume epic consisting of 117 individual chapters, with the saga’s titular arc closing out the story. The saga introduced numerous fan-favorite characters, including Nico Robin, Portgas D. Ace, Vivi, and Crocodile, while providing Luffy with some of his more challenging early battles. As such, not only will Netflix’s adaptation expand the crew and world of the show, but will escalate the stakes, as Luffy learns not all foes can be so easily handled with his Devil Fruit abilities.
