Naomi Scott, best known for playing Princess Jasmine in Disney’s live-action Aladdin film, is swapping genres to join the upcoming horror sequel, Smile 2. Parker Finn is returning to both write and direct the second film after the runaway success of the first movie.
Smile revolved around a psychiatrist, who after witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, becomes increasingly convinced she is being threatened by an uncanny entity. Plot details for the sequel are being kept under wraps.
Scott will next be seen in David Michôd‘s upcoming A24 film Wizards! as the female lead opposite Pete Davidson and Orlando Bloom. She just wrapped Eternal Return, the first film under her production banner New Name Entertainment, which also stars Kit Harington and Simon Callow in a magical realism romancer directed by Yaniv Raz.
