MTV VMAs 2024: Chappell Roan hits back at photographer yelled at her on red carpet

Chappell Roan has hit back at a photographer who yelled out to her on the VMAs red carpet.

The pop star was getting her dress adjusted as she was posing on the red carpet when a photographer yelled out to her, “Shut the f–k up”.

The 26-year-old swiftly turned around and pointed to the photographer in question, shouting back, “You shut the f–k up.”

There was a heated pause as her dress was finished being adjusted before she faced back to the photographer she said, “No, not me, bitch.”

She then continued posing for the cameras.

The pop star’s outfit has been the focus of much speculation – given her reputation for extravagant outfits – and the Good Luck, Babe singer did not disappoint.

She stepped out onto an unfurled 600-year-old antique rug with costumed bodyguards by her side, wearing a green velvet embroidered robe.

Roan had a sword in hand – yes, an actual sword – as she told fans to, “Take notes,” teasing that her themed outfit is a clue for what’s to come. 

She then shed the coat to reveal a witchy, semi-sheer dress with a plunging neckline, accesorised with armoured handcuffs and chainmail gloves, as well as large cross around her neck and dramatic armoured legs underneath her skirt.

Her makeup was toned down from what we are used to, though she kept the theme with a deep red lip, sunken deep eyes, and white face paint.

She completed the look with her hair in a messy plait and long, medieval themed manicure.

It was when she unveiled her dress that the incident with the photographer occurred.
