The SI MoCCA Arts Festival has just announced its plans for the 2025 event, including the visual branding. Organized by the Society of Illustrators, this year’s show will take place March 15 – 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
MoCCA has been an institution for the New York comics scene for more than 20 years – and we at the Beat are extremely proud to announce that we will be the Media Sponsor for this year’s show! We’ll be bringing you exclusive announcements, interviews and behind the scenes information to showcase the wonderful comics and creators at the show, and the world of small press, art, and literary comics that MoCCA has always championed.
That includes this year’s key art, a poster by award-winning Swedish artist Linnea Sterte, which will appear in a large-scale display at the Fest, grace the cover of the Souvenir Journal, and be featured prominently across all promotional materials, including select merchandise available at the SI Booth.
SI has also commissioned Olivia Field to create this year’s badge art (above) and John Vasquez Mejias to create art for various promotional items in his signature woodcut style (below). Sterte, Field and Mejias will all be featured at the event.
Plans for MoCCA ’25 include work by over 400 creators, live lectures, panels, and artist signings. As one of the first independent comics festivals of the season, the Fest highlights industry legends, emerging talents, and fan favorites.
As in year’s past, booths will be located at the Metropolitan Pavilion, located at 125 W 18th Street, NYC. Festival programming is around the corner at MoCCA’s main festival partner, SVA’s Flatiron Gallery, located at 133 West 21st Street.
MoCCA is also partnering with CalmerCon NYC to introduce a Calmer Space, a thoughtfully designed area located at the Fest to support the neurodiverse community, individuals with PTSD, and people with special needs. The space will offer an environment tailored to reduce sensory overload while providing tools to encourage relaxation and self-regulation. Items offered in the space are carefully chosen to help attendees recharge, self-regulate, and make the most of their time at the Fest.
