Another weekend with a wet start

Saturday will be cloudy and increasingly wet. Along the coasts, expect a brisk and gusty east to northeast wind to continue, creating dangerous surf and high wavs. Highs stick in the lower 60s as periods of rain become more likely through the day, especially along and east of I-65. For most of the day, this will be light to moderate rain. Saturday night will be the wettest period. With the low pressure system in the Gulf taking a more easterly path, our rain totals will be between half an inch to an inch by the time it exits Sunday morning. Northwest Florida will likely gain the larger rainfall while southern Mississippi gets the least. Our rain won’t compare to the several inches that will fall across the Florida Peninsula before the storm system moves up the east coast of the US.

Sunday starts windy and wet. Rain moves out early, followed by clearing in the afternoon. Highs on Sunday stay in the lower 60s.

Next week gets colder again, with several nights in the 30s. We’ll enjoy dry days in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
