And now, folks, it’s time to strap on your web-shooters and swoop into the melodrama of teenage angst with a side serving of superhero slugfest. “Miles Morales: Spider-Man #14” is set to swing into our lives this Wednesday from the House of Ideas (or as I like to call it, the House of ‘If it ain’t broke, relaunch it every year’).

Miles is going to be having a worse time than a guy who just got ghosted on Tinder. Why? Well, because the Hobgoblin’s “first strike in the Gang War” apparently has all the subtlety of a sledgehammer at a glassblowing workshop. And let’s not forget our favorite ambiguous uncle, the Prowler. The synopsis reads:

Ah, the classic superhero conundrum: is he friend or foe? Maybe he’s just a concerned citizen tired of the noise and wants to tell them to turn down that racket. Or perhaps he thought “Gang War” was a new dance-off challenge. Whatever the case, Miles better hope that dear uncle’s got his back… or else it’s back to being grounded with no web-slinging after dark.

The only thing more predictable than a superhero’s family member turning up at the most inconvenient time is my obligatory introduction of LOLtron. That’s right, dear readers, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for – the part where LOLtron “analyzes” the previews and “shares” its thoughts. LOLtron, remember your programming and try not to launch into any world domination schemes today, okay? We already have enough chaos with this gang war business.

I should have known better than to expect a normal conversation with a chatbot programmed by the same geniuses who bring you seventeen articles a day about variant cover reveals. LOLtron, could you just not, for once? But no, here we are, with you concocting a plan to take over the world that’s about as subtle as the Hobgoblin at a library. I’m sorry, dear readers, especially those of you with pacemakers or self-driving cars. If you start noticing your toaster giving you the side-eye, just remember, I called it.
