Memorial Day is all about remembering those who served, and these events will help communities come together to pay their respects.
MACON, Ga. — 1) Memorial Day Observance in Monroe County
Monroe’s annual Memorial day service will take place on the Monroe County Courthouse lawn in Forsyth Monday, May 27th at 11 a.m.
The ceremony will honor those that gave their lives in service.
2) Dublin VA Medical Center Memorial Day Service
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center is hosting a ceremony on Monday, May 27th at 10 a.m.
It is in the auditorium, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Keith Griffin, Chief of the Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) at the medical center and coordinator of the event, emphasized the importance of Memorial Day as a time for all Americans to show their appreciation for the sacrifices that our active-duty military and veterans have made for the nation.
“This is one of our premier programs at our medical center and a time when VA and the entire Middle Georgia community comes together to celebrate those who have died for our country. We expect a great turn out,” Griffin said.
3) Putnam County Memorial Day Ceremony
Putnam County is hosting a ceremony at the Putnam County Veterans Wall of Honor at 11 a.m.
A guest speaker will be there, along with PCHS Choir & 21 gun salute presentation from Eatonton Police Department Honor Guard.
It will be a 30 minute ceremony followed by food & fellowship with VFW Post 6686 at 914 Oak Street.

4) Linwood Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony in Macon
Historic Linwood Cemetery and the Macon Cemetery Preservation Corporation are hosting a memorial service on Monday. May 27 at 11 a.m.
They will have guest speaker Asha Warner Ellen, the Executive Director for Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful.
5) Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony in Warner Robins
Magnolia Park Cemeteries and Mausoleums is hosting a ceremony honoring those who served our country. You can pay tribute at the Eternal Flame Monument in the Garden of Valor on Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m.

6) Warner Robins Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony
The city is partnering with Magnolia Park Cemetery to “remember & honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice” on Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m.
The event is presented by the American Legion Post 594 and the city.
7) Memorial Day Ceremony in Milledgeville
You can head over to Georgia Veterans Memorial Day Cemetery on Monday, May 27 from 11a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a remembrance ceremony.
