Meek Mill Revisits DJ Drama Brushing Off JAY-Z Comparison

Meek Mill has revisited the a DJ Drama interview, in which the legendary DJ brushed off the JAY-Z comparison.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday (May 8), the Philadelphia rapper first posted a video of DJ Drama’s 2023 appearance on the Jay Hill Network. During the clip, host Jay Hill posited Meek as the JAY-Z of his generation due to his influence on the streets.

Despite having addressed the interview before, Meek spoke on the denial again, though it’s unclear what prompted him to revisit the situation.

“I give yall my honest without speaking on drake,” he began. “Bike life culture “meek billionaire culture connected to rap … really been through poverty the system “meek” really changing laws “meek” showed the most new artist love with my platform “meek”

“I really changed like 4 laws that really help stop the cycle of probation for the average person coming up in our culture! Through Mike Rubin and Kevin hart I’ve donated and help bring millions to the city of Philadelphia! We have real job fairs with reform!

He continued: “My pr has been off for a year or 2 so they mutating my name but when I’m gone they will give it up! Ima just keep grinding! They boy and Kendrick have their own lanes and qualities they great at also!”

“I gotta say it what I offered to the game everytime it can’t be minimized!” he concluded. “I’m starting to like these convos if we in the era of facts … I been in all the jungles lifting communities up for years …. And my rap skills are incredible! Like really really good.”

Last year, DJ Drama appeared as a guest on The Jay Hill Podcast. During the interview, he was asked about who he thought was the JAY-Z of today’s generation.

“I feel like Meek Mill is the JAY-Z of our culture,” Hill remarked.

Drama, however, didn’t agree. “I think it’s Drake — one thousand percent,” he calmly remarked. “Drake came out in ’08. It’s 2023. He changed the sound of Hip Hop. He’s literally ran every summer.”

2Pac & Biggie Would’ve Been As Successful As JAY-Z, Dr. Dre & Diddy, Says DJ Drama

These comments didn’t sit well with the Dreams and Nightmares rapper, who took to Twitter on May 29 to slam the Atlanta-based DJ in a series of tweets.

“Dj drama a goofy over these hoes lol he won’t speak good on me I tore him up in the a,” Meek Mill began. “I asked drama why he always speaking down on me with a few other words too told him he’s a goofy… I also hit him when he tried to compare dreams and nightmares to I wanna rock AND DOWNPLAY ME … DONT LET THESE INDUSTRY LAMES USE YOU THEY DONT REALLY EVEN LIKE YOU SMH LOL.”

Meek also made clear that he’s the “Meek of his generation” and didn’t appreciate the comparisons to Hov.

“And I’m the meek of this generation … nothing can’t be hov he laid all this shit out for us you gotta make your own movie outchea,” he tweeted. “that’s that n-ggaitis who the new hov …. I respect that highly can’t be re-done … drama tryna divide and conquer a feat lol drama basically started/powered that meek and drake beef … so to see him compare us again and cut youngin off to where he can’t barely speak so much gat in his mouth lol.”
