Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s latest update has added a wealth of new, highly requested, features to the game, with the most prominent being the inclusion of a New Game Plus move. While many of these were detailed before the update launched, there were other tweaks that developer Insomniac made to the game in response to fan feedback.

As shared by Redditor Awesomealan1, Insomniac changed Peter Parker’s “Webbed” suit as part of this update. The Webbed suit is based on the character’s appearance in Sam Raimi’s early 2000s Spider-Man movie trilogy, in which he was portrayed by Tobey Maguire. Despite there being many movie iterations of Spider-Man over the past couple of decades, Raimi’s films are still an extremely popular take on the character, and many fans were pleased that Insomniac included this suit in their games.

How Has Peter’s Webbed Suit Changed In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

One Major Tweak Has Improved The Suit Massively

Peter Parker's Webbed Suit

The movie-inspired Webbed suit wasn’t included at launch in Insomniac’s first Marvel’s Spider-Man, much to the dismay of fans of the costume. The suit was later added by the developer in an update around the holiday season, however, and was included in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at launch, alongside nearly every movie costume worn by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.

Raimi fans were disappointed to find that the colors seemed off when equipping the Webbed suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While the movie suits were known for their richer, darker tones of red and blue, these seemed too dark on the version of the Webbed suit that was included at launch, especially when put alongside the costume’s distinct silver webbing, which also experienced issues with lighting. This has been amended in the March 7 1.002 update, bringing it closer to the color palette used in the movies, and how the webs reacted to light in them.

The Webbed suit is named after its unique raised silver webbing pattern.

Insomniac clearly seems to be taking player feedback on board with its changes to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and this new update has made the game better than ever before. Whether players want to experience their favorite moments from the story again in New Game Plus and Mission Select, or simply swing around the city in the new – or amended – suits on offer, there are plenty of reasons for players to dive back in, even if they finished the game months ago.
