Margaret Josephs is facing backlash after appearing at Sunday night’s People’s Choice Awards with her Real Housewives of New Jersey co-stars, Melissa Gorga and Dolores Catania.
After the women posed for a series of photos on the green carpet and backstage, many of which made their rounds on social media due to Margaret’s appearance, Margaret, 56, was called out for being “too skinny,” using Ozempic, and potentially going under the knife for a “new face.”
In one photo shared by Margaret on February 18 from the Santa Monica event, she was seen smiling in a white gown from Harbison Studio, jewelry from Alexis Bittar, and makeup by Lyndsay Zavitz.
In a second image, also shared by Margaret, the RHONJ cast member was seen on the green carpet, showing off her fit frame just steps away from Dolores, 53.
Following the sharing of the recent photos of Margaret, a number of Instagram users weighed in on different fan pages, with many signaling to Ozempic and plastic surgery.
“Ozempic and plastic surgery does wonders,” one person wrote, along with a clapping emoji.
“Poor Margaret,” said another.
“Margaret is way too skinny.. She was fine the way she was [in my opinion],” wrote a third.
Margaret was also seen in a photo reshared by Melissa, 44, that featured her and Dolores posing in front of a People’s Choice Awards shrub.
“Melissa and Dolores look great!” one person said of the trio.
“Dolores is best as far as dresses!” added another.
Meanwhile, someone else targeted Margaret’s new look, saying, “Marge went and got another new face.”
“Marge and Dolo have to stop. They look skeletal,” shared another IG user, who suspected Margaret and Dolores had gone too far with their weight loss.
“OZEMPIC,” added someone else.
As RHONJ fans may have heard, Margaret revealed last year that she had enlisted the help of a diabetes drug to lose weight but denied what she was using was Ozempic.
After losing 22 pounds, Margaret told Insider she was getting a shot each week to lose weight and improve her metabolism.
“Everyone is like, ‘Marge, you look great,’ although some of my co-stars think some of my weight loss is not a great idea,” Margaret said. “But I think it’s ridiculous. I think it’s whatever works for me.”
Dolores has also been open with her use of a diabetes medication for weight loss.
“I’m going through menopause, I have a thyroid issue, I have inflammation, and weight is hard to take off,” she explained to Page Six. “And I work out, and I don’t eat crazy, and I was gaining weight, and it’s a lot of different layers. … Let’s just let everybody know.”
Meanwhile, cast member Jackie Goldschneider, 47, has been vocal about her concerns.
“You should know that I can talk about Ozempic all day. It gets me so fired up,” she told Page Six. “I’m horrified by it. There’s going to be a lot of people with eating disorders. … You start dropping massive amounts of weight. That’s so addicting. That’s how I spiraled into anorexia.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 14 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime this spring.
