Man dead after crash on I-75

MACON, Ga. — A man is dead after a crash on I-75, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. 

They say it happened at 2:30 a.m. on I-75 southbound near the ramp from Mercer University Drive.

A 25-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry when he was going south on I-75. He then lost control of the car and struck a guard rail, the release says. 

The driver was ejected from the car. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Miley. 

The man has been identified as Tyree Harris. His next of kin have been notified.

The traffic collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
